Jackson Legacy Program

The Jackson Legacy Program will provide scholarships for most Jackson County high school graduates planning to attend Jackson Community College, Baker College of Jackson and Spring Arbor University.

If community service and grade point average requirements are met, a scholarship for the second year will also be available. Please note that scholarship awards and their continuation are dependent on the sufficiency of available funding. Students must apply each year.

Here at Jackson Legacy, you'll find a wealth of information for both parents and students. Future college students and their families have so many questions concerning a college education; we make it our goal to help provide the answers.

Our Mission:

To cultivate productive citizens through effective, relevant education; to provide Jackson County high school graduates with opportunities to further their education; to revitalize Jackson County.

Legacy Program Details

Jackson has many young people who aspire to attend college but need support to achieve their dream. In lieu of a drastic increase in federal government loans over the past decade, the Jackson Legacy Program will provide scholarships for Jackson County high school graduates commencing their post secondary education at Jackson County institutions of higher learning for the first two years of their schooling.

Please note that scholarship awards and their continuation are dependent on the sufficiency of available funding.

Student Support

In order to assist students in preparing for college, The College Access Center opened and is located at the Jackson Crossing, our community’s largest and busiest shopping mall. The College Access Center (CAC) is one of only two access centers in the country located in a mall - a place where youth are located and feel at ease.

At the center, students and their families can learn about career options, scholarships, and get assistance with college applications and financial aid opportunities. The phone number is (517) 990-0671.
