Trustees approved a record one million dollars in grantmaking, which was an unprecedented amount

JCF, under the prudent guidance of the Finance Committee, exceeded investment targets, earning 11.8% in growth

Donors exceeded more than $1.8 million in contributions

JCF administrative costs were maintained at 1.75% of total assets

The Jackson Legacy Program was launched with a vision of creating improved student success and financial support for those pursuing higher learning at local colleges and universities
By year end, 12 new funds were created. These included a gift from the Mary Heglund Estate, which will assist in perpetuity meeting community need through unrestricted grantmaking. Ms. Heglund’s generous gift will provide much needed funding for a variety of community programs into the future. Another fine example is that of John and Jean McCluskey, who were the founding donors for the Jackson Legacy Program. The McCluskeys wisely used the option of the IRA Charitable Rollover, which is only in effect for 2006 and 2007. This was their opportunity to demonstrate their support for the value of education. We also play key roles in community initiatives, such as Health Care For All and Project Access. The Health Care for All committee strives to improve the health of
