Scholarship Application Details

Due Date for Scholarship Applications:
Scholarship applications are due March 1. (If this date falls on a weekend or holiday, then the due date will be the first business day following the weekend or holiday.) You must obtain all attachments and submit your entire scholarship package in one envelope by the due date. Please begin to plan for the following:
• Who will provide your two letters of reference?
• Each letter must be accompanied by a Scholarship Letter of
Reference Form.
• Which five scholarships best meet my eligibility criteria? The
following questions are part of the essay and short answer sections:
- Provide an original essay that illustrates how your academic success relates to your personal and career goals. Include personal and academic accomplishments; Leadership, volunteer and service activities; employment, personal responsibilities, and hobbies; And your future goals.
- Respond to the following in short answer form, 'This scholarship program is made possible as a result of the philanthropic generosity of an individual, a family, or a group of compassionate citizens. How do you intend to incorporate philanthropy in your life during and beyond your academic career?"
- Be prepared to provide a written justification related to your
eligibility for each of the scholarships for which you intend to apply.

Scholarship Eligibility and Selection Requirements
These requirements are applicable to all scholarships offered through the Jackson Community Foundation. Eligibility requirements and selection criteria specific to each scholarship are listed with each scholarship description.
• Graduating senior from a Jackson County high school or a
Jackson County resident
• Provide proof of acceptance to or be currently attending an
accredited college or university program or vocational/technical institute
• All scholarships may be used for tuition and fees only
unless otherwise specified.
• Selection of each recipient will be made by a committee
designated by The Jackson Community Foundation and scholarship donors.
