Valedictorian & Salutatorian Scholarships
Listed below are the descriptions and requirements for each individual scholarship. Each Scholarship fund has ranked, in order of scoring importance, the eligibility criteria specific to that fund.
The Eleanor A. Ernest Scholarship
The Eleanor A Ernest Scholarship is awarded each year to a valedictorian, salutatorian or student with the highest grade point average of a smaller Jackson County high school (148 students or less in graduating senior class). The award recognizes exceptional high school achievement in academics, citizenship and extracurricular activity by providing a one year, $1,000 scholarship to a high school senior who is enrolled or who plans to enroll in an approved post secondary institution*.

Eligibility Requirements:
• A valedictorian, salutatorian or student with
highest grade point average from a smaller Jackson County high school (148 students or less in graduating senior class)
• Cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher
• Participation in school activities and/or sports
• Good citizenship leadership and outside
activities including work experience |

Accredited 4-Year College or University; Junior or Community College; Vocational or Technical School; NursingSchool ; Secretarial/Business School.

Robert P. Ernest Scholarship
The Robert P. Ernest Memorial Scholarship is awarded each year to a valedictorian, salutatorian or student with the highest grade point average of a larger Jackson County high school (149 students or more in graduating senior class). The award recognizes exceptional high school achievement in academics, citizenship and extracurricular activity by providing a one-year, $1,000 scholarship to a high school senior who is enrolled or who plans to enroll in an approved post secondary institution*.
