Howard and Barbara Thompson Scholarship

Established in honor of Barbara and Howard Thompson, this scholarship reflects their personal dedication to youth of Jackson County and their belief in the importance of history and education. Each year one award is given to a Jackson High School graduating senior or previous recipient who is pursuing a degree in History and/or Political Science.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Jackson High School graduating senior or previous recipient 

• Plan to pursue a degree in History and/or Political Science 

• Acceptance at an accredited 2 or 4 year college or university 

• GPA of 3.0 or above 

• Participation in school activities and/or sports 

• Demonstration of good citizenship and leadership qualities

Renewable: Yes, up to 3 times

         

Scholarship Award: Up to $5,000   (Scholarships typically range from $500-$1,000)

Scholarship Use: Tuition, fees, or other academic-related costs
