Martha & Oliver Hansen Memorial Scholarship

The Martha and Oliver Hansen Memorial Scholarship, established by Martha and Oliver's children Steve Hansen, Cindy Barrus and Marty Mercer, honors their parents' dedication to learning. "We have all greatly benefited from the support our parents gave us in pursuing educational opportunities and would love to recognize our parents by opening opportunities for others to go to college as well." The purpose of the award is to recognize and encourage those who desire to enter the field of Education with the intention of teaching in the classroom.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Resident of Jackson County, Michigan

• Incoming college junior or senior

• Minimum GPA of 2.5 or above 

• Majoring in Education with the intention of teaching in the classroom 

• Attends an accredited Michigan college or university

Renewable: Yes, up to 2 times

         

Scholarship Award:  Up to $1,000 

Scholarship Use: Tuition, books, fees, or other academic costs (including child care)
